Rate of fire
The Standard machinegun is the basic model of machinegun. It's very effective if you have steady enough nerves to decapitate incoming enemies at medium range. The individual bullets don't do very much damage at close range and it can be hard to aim, so you will burn through ammunition and probably come out with a few scratches if you engage in a melee too often. Although you will struggle to headshot enemies at long range, if they notice you firing at them and approach you over open ground, you have a good chance of shooting them down. This gun starts out doing modest damage and has some key weaknesses, but with enough bonuses (a few accuracy and plenty of firing-rate) it can become a very flexible and powerful weapon, able to take down foes at any distance. All three of its primary upgrades are very good in their own right, too.
- When you hold the trigger down, you experience decreasing accuracy over time
- If you feather the trigger, you maintain accuracy
