The Cluster Buster is a 2-tiered secondary upgrade for the shotgun.
The first pull of the trigger launches a cluster shell in an arc, like a grenade. Pulling the trigger when this shell is in the air will cause it to release four bomblets onto the area below. This is a good way of taking out a large number of weaker opponents, although timing your shot to land the bomblets on a single strong enemy is difficult.

- Judging the right time to pull the trigger can be hard - if you sidestep after firing, it can help give you some perspective.
- The shell doesn't do much damage if it hits an enemy without bursting. Make sure you aim high and use that second trigger.
